(C/C) = car color

‘For the love of God, the sun is rising! Just how many hours have we spent at that noisy shack?' You thought in aggravation as you drove your (C/C) car through the deserted highway, the first sun rays of the day painting the sky in pinkish and orangey colors.

You hated spending the whole night out, especially at those crowded, noisy places called nightclubs. You just did it because your best friend Esther had insisted you needed to go out to clear your mind. And how not, she had to choose the only nightclub which was an after-hour club as well. Maybe you found it so boring because you didn't turn into a drunken mess. Who knew? You never drank. But you would honestly have preferred it if she had kidnapped you to make you watch One Piece with her, as she had done so many other times.

You had just left your friend at home and you finally could go to your own and hopefully have some rest. You could practically hear your bed calling you from your cozy home.

You sighed.

At least you had managed to forget for a while about your ex-boyfriend. No. The sickening bastard of your ex-boyfriend.

Four years! Four damn wasted years you had spent with that dirty liar, just to recently find out he had been cheating on you almost from the beginning. And with whom he cheated on you? HA! With whom he didn't!?  He slept with almost the whole female population of the city! That jerk!

You were so done with men!

You wished he caught some venereal disease. Huh. Why not? All of them!

You were so absorbed in your thoughts of resentment that you didn't saw the unknown form laying on the middle of the road, right in your way, until you almost had it in the face.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" You yelled at the top of your lungs when you noticed, slamming on the breaks with all your strength and your eyes nearly coming out of their sockets.

The car stopped just a few steps from the form, your body jerking at the sudden braking but staying in place thanks to the safety belt.

You blinked at the form on the road, panting as you tried to steady your crazy heartbeat. You relaxed your hands after noting you were holding the steering wheel with too much force.

Your mouth fell agape when your brain deciphered the form. It was a person. It was a damn person! "Oh, God! I'm going to go to prison!" You freaked out, your mouth going dry. But wait. Why didn't they move? What if they were dead!?

You were about to open the door to get out when another thought crossed your mind.

What if this was a trap? What if once you got out the stranger attacked you and mugged you, or kidnapped you or raped you or...?

But what if they were just an innocent victim who needed your help? What if they were slowly dying as you where there, safe in your car and rambling about stupidities?

You quickly searched for your smartphone and called to ask for an ambulance. You explained the situation and informed about your location. Then, you left the phone ready to call the police as fast as possible in case something went wrong. You had decided you were going to run the risk and get out to help the stranger.

You scanned your car looking for something that you could use as a weapon. Your best option seemed to be an umbrella. You reached out to take it and placed your phone on your pocket before getting out of the car, leaving the door opened. It would allow you to get inside faster if you needed to, and if the stranger's intention was to rob you, you always could wait for the ambulance to arrive.

You slowly approached the unknown person laying face up on the ground, raising the umbrella in wariness. It was a man. "Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead." You internally begged. You softly poked him with the umbrella before squatting down and placing two watchful fingers on his neck to check his pulse.

You could feel his weak pulse under your fingers. If you payed attention you could even see his chest moving up and down as he breathed. He seemed to be unconscious but he was alive.

Barely alive, though. You didn't need to pay too much attention to notice his body was badly beaten. He had various cuts here and there as well. And he was... wet? Why did he appeared to have come out of a pool? He was soaked from head to toe. What the hell had happened to him?

Your eyes landed then on one of his hands, a shiver running across your spine as you read the word tattooed in his fingers. 'DEATH'.

'Great, (Y/N). You're alone with a possible serial killer. Great job, girl. Great job.' You sarcastically applauded yourself.

You jerked up when his eyes suddenly opened and locked to your face. That's when you noticed how handsome he was. Straight nose, full lips, thick raven hair messily sticking out from a weird-looking, white, spotted hat, and a goatee and sideburns that framed his attractive, young features perfectly.

But what really caught your attention were his eyes. They were golden. You had no idea having golden eyes was possible. But his eyes were undoubtedly golden. They were clouded by exhaustion and lacked any shine, but they were gorgeous nonetheless. And the soft shadow of his dark circles only made them stand out even more.

"I didn't know demons could be this beautiful." His low, smooth voice startled you despite how weak he had sounded. Maybe he was injured, but he still looked dangerous. At least he did to you.

You stared at him in confusion. "Demons?" You babbled.

"I'm in hell, right?" He weakly murmured, not having strength enough to speak louder. "I hope all the demons are as beautiful as you are."

You blinked in puzzlement. ‘Nice. I bumped into a junkie *sigh*. Hopefully he will get the help he needs at the hospital.’ You thought. "I'm (Y/N), and I'm not a demon. You're alive, but badly injured, so it's better if you don't talk and save your energy, okay? I called for an ambulance. You'll get help soon."

He slowly raised a trembling hand and placed his palm over your cheek, his thumb gingerly brushing your skin. You swallowed nervously, feeling rather awkward due to the affectionate gesture. He was deathly cold. You sincerely hoped he could make it to the hospital. Why was the ambulance taking so long? "So beautiful..." He mumbled, ignoring your advice.

You rolled your eyes before taking off your jacket and folding it into an improvised pillow. You carefully placed your hand under his head and slightly raised it to slide your folded jacket underneath so he could be a bit more comfortable. You also took off his strange hat, placing it on the ground next to you.

You eyed your car. It was clear to you now nothing was going to happen. You should place a warning triangle to make sure other drivers saw you in time, to avoid possible accidents. You took his hand to move it away from your face and tried to stand, but he held your hand with his, preventing you from moving.

"Don't... leave me." He begged with difficulty.

You looked into his eyes, your heart clenching at the imploring look in his face. He didn't look dangerous to you anymore. He looked fragile and scared instead.

"I'm not going to leave you. I just need to do something really quickly and I'll be right back. Okay?" You explained him, your voice coming out with a sweet tone without you even intending to.

"No... Please. Stay." He insisted, a lonely tear running down his beaten cheek.

"I'll be right here, I promise. Nothing will happen to you." You managed to free your hand from him and sent him a reassuring smile before hurrying to your car to close the door (leaving the umbrella inside) and take the warning triangle from the trunk, wanting to be back to his side as soon as possible. You saw a checkerboard blanket you always had in the car with you and took it as well, closing the trunk afterwards.

It was pretty shocking how he had managed to transform your wariness and distrust into feelings of protectiveness and tenderness with just three simple words.

You placed the warning triangle making sure it was visible and quickly went back to the golden-eyed man, kneeling next to him. "I'm back." You told him. His eyes went to your face to remain there, visible relief grazing his features. You unfolded the blanket to cover him, but gasped in horror, a hand going to your mouth as you noticed a bleeding cut in his stomach you hadn't seen before. "Oh my God..." You whispered in fear. "Y-You're bleeding. Why didn't you say something before?"

Damn. Damn. Damn. Why didn't you check for wounds before? What were you supposed to do now? You had no idea about first aid.

Pressure! You knew you had to apply pressure to the wound to prevent it from bleeding. That's all you could remember. You carefully raised the hem of his hoodie to uncover the wound and made sure he had nothing stuck before taking the blanket, not having anything better on hand, and placing it over the wound, pressing with your hands.

He placed his tattooed, cold hands over yours, his eyes never leaving your face. "You're so soft..." He mumbled. You wondered what kind of dangerous drug could make a man look at you with such intensity and devotion.

You bit your lower lip. He was really pale. Where was the damn ambulance!!!?

At least he didn't seem to be suffering. In fact, he looked quite comfy, weakly tracing your hands with his fingers as his eyes studied your features.

The siren of an ambulance finally reached your ears, and in a few seconds, the vehicle stopped next to your car and two male nurses came out of it. "H-He's bleeding." Were your first and only words. You showed them the large cut so they could treat it as soon as possible.

You took the hat and blanket with your free hand and tried to move away to leave them space, but again, the stranger held your hand and looked at you pleadingly, so you stayed trying to leave the nurses do their work.

Once they had attended to his most serious wounds, they brought a stretcher and carefully placed him on it. "I'll follow you in my car." You stated when they started moving the stretcher to the ambulance.

"No! Don't... leave me. Don't." The golden-eyed man begged you again, tightening his hold on your hand.

"I can't leave my car here. I'm going to the hospital as well. I'm not leaving you." You explained, trying to soothe him.

"No! No! Please!" He implored, desperation coating his weak voice. His breathing became frantic as he felt his hand loosing hold of yours. "Don't leave... me. Stay. Stay."

"Please, calm down, sir. You're in a precarious state." One of the nurses requested in slight alarm.

"Please... don't leave me." He desperately continued with his eyes fixed on you, ignoring the nurse.

"Alright, alright. I stay. I'm not going anywhere, okay? Just calm down, please." You gave in, scared he could cause his own death if he kept freaking out. "I can go with him, right?"

"Are you a relative or a friend?" The oldest nurse wanted to know.

"No. I don't know him. I just found him and called you." You answered. The nurse seemed to doubt for a moment before nodding, allowing you to go inside. Normally he wouldn't let a non-relative stay with the patient, but he seemed really anxious of your company and you had saved him anyways. He could make an exception. The injured man instantly relaxed as you stepped closer to him and entered the back of the ambulance with him, sitting on a chair placed next to the stretcher. "How is he?" You questioned once the ambulance was on its way to the hospital.

"His wounds are serious, and he has lost a good quantity of blood, but he'll be fine. Make sure he stays awake." The nurse who wasn't driving instructed you.

You looked down at the young man, who was intently staring at you with his eyes wide open. You didn't think you would need to insist too much to get him to stay awake.

He weakly pulled your arm and you noticed he was trying to place your hand on his cheek, so you complied and leaned in, softly resting your palm on his face. He hugged your arm, placing a hand on top of yours and closed his eyes, leaning on your palm. "Don't fall asleep." You soflty told him, his eyes opening to keep looking at your face. You didn't know why, but a smile tugged on your lips. "Did you hear the nurse? You're going to be fine."

He said nothing, and simply kept staring at your face, holding your arm. The guy was indeed fond of you.

You placed the hat, the blanket and your jacket on your lap so you had a free hand to take your phone and call for a tow that moved your car to somewhere you could go to take it later, golden eyes permanently glued to your face.

You sighed. You couldn't believe all you were doing for a complete stranger. This was crazy.

Moments after you finished your call, you realized his eyelids were starting to close. "No, no. Stay awake." You demanded, softly brushing his cheek with the thumb of your trapped hand. He blinked, trying to obey, but it was clearly hard for him. "He's falling asleep." You told the nurses.

"Don't worry. We're already at the hospital. We'll take charge of him." The driver told you as the ambulance stopped. "You go to reception and leave your personal information, just in case we need to call you. You can leave after that if you want to."

You nodded standing to leave the ambulance, your arm easily freeing from the man's arms as he had lost his consciousness again. You entered the hospital behind the nurses and went to the reception desk to do as the nurse had requested. The receptionist asked you some questions about the incident and the stranger, although you didn't really knew too much about none of them.

"Thank you, miss." The receptionist thanked you.

"I wish to stay until I can see him again. Where can I wait?" You politely questioned. You had been at that hospital plenty of times, but you didn't know if you had to do something different in this situation. The receptionist told you to wait at the emergency waiting room, where you had waited so many other times when you went there because you got sick.

"Someone will call you when you can see the patient." The receptionist added.

You nodded and thanked him before heading to the bathroom; you wanted to clean your hands first, as they were bloody from when you had been helping the golden-eyed man. Once you were done, you went to the waiting room. It was the first time you were completely alone in it.

You sat on a random chair and closed your eyes. You couldn't believe you were so concerned about someone you 'met' like one hour ago.

You were way too soft.

Here's the first chapter! :D

Hope you like it ^-^

I honestly have no idea what's the procedure you must follow if you find someone injured in the middle of the road so I made it up trying to follow my common sense xD. I tried doing some research as well, but I didn't found anyhing too specific. I hope you don't mind... .:Little bunny worried:.
