WARNING: sickness ahead. Nothing too descriptive, along the same lines of the previous chapters.

"Here we are again." Law commented with a sigh, letting himself fall on the chair next to your bed once you settled in the private room.

Deciding it could be useful, he saved your parent's phone numbers to his mobile long ago, and he had just called them to see if they could come by to see you and keep you company while he went home to gather everything you needed. He also had talked with your mother about the possibility of switching places with him so she would stay with you instead. He loved being there taking care of you, and it would be hard to stay away and not know how you were feeling at every moment, but he knew you loved your mother and he thought you would prefer to be with her. He hadn't told you anything of this, though. He hoped it would be a surprise to cheer you up.

"Welcome to my life." You declared in a tone of resignation. His lips curved into what seemed like an apologetic grin, but you smiled. Actually, you didn't mind your situation that much if he was there with you. He had proved to have the ability of making you feel at home wherever you were. As if he had become your home. "Law, I have bad news."

"Nausea?" He asked as he stood to look for a basin in the room.

"No. Pee." You clarified, a bit reluctantly.

"Oh, alright." He casually accepted, relaxing after knowing you weren't feeling worse again.

Maybe relaxing a bit too much, in your opinion. Didn't he realize what he got coming? How could he react so naturally? Doctor's quirk? Boyfriend's trait? Or was he simply weird?

He helped you get down the bed, unaware of your thoughts. The saline solution was hanging from a movable support with casters, so all he had to do was pull it along with him. He held it with his left hand, and placed his right arm around you to support you. "Are you dizzy?" He questioned, slowly starting to walk to the bathroom.

"A little, but I think I'm fine." You told him, a bit unsure.

You entered the bathroom and Law closed the door just in case a nurse entered while you were there. "Can you lower your panties?" He bluntly questioned with a deadpan expression.

You blinked, a little perplexed for his straightforwardness. You had realized moments ago you wouldn't really mind if he saw some part of your body, but having him ready to remove your panties if you couldn't do it yourself, was a little too much. "I'm fine, so yes." You mumbled a bit flustered. He looked away as you did so and sat on the toilet. "I can't believe I'm going to pee in front of you again."

He smirked in amusement, although you couldn't see it because he remained with his face turned to give you some privacy. "I truly feel honored." He said crossing his arms, amused sarcasm in his voice.

"Are you really going to stay there all the time?" You wondered, thinking now you were sat down, he maybe could put some more distance and hopefully a door between you.

"I'm not leaving you alone when you're weak and dizzy, you could get hurt."  He patiently explained.

"How nice of you." You kindly teased him, feeling strangely thankful. "But what if I had to go for a number two?"

A chuckle escaped his lips. Your replies were always unexpected to him. "Too bad for me." He simply asserted, matter-of-factly.

You actually laughed at that. "Are you serious!?"

He leaned his back against the wall, seeing this may take a while. "Such is life."

Damn, that's what you called true love. How embarrassing, though. And... Unromantic. "Are you one of those doctors who throws a party when their patients'... digestive stuff gets out?"

More chuckles. "No, but if some doctors do is because it's a good sign. It means the body is functioning." There was a moment of silence. "Are you done?"

"No, I was talking to you. I need to concentrate." Law's throat made a weird noise as he tried to hold back the laughter. Concentrate? "What's so funny?"

"Nothing. You're cute." Amusement clearly reflected in his response. He was also happy to see there could be good moments between the bad.

Finally, a characteristic bubble could be heard in the room. Then, the sound of the toilet paper rolling. Was it weird that he was perfectly comfortable with such an awkward situation? He found it more amusing than anything.

"Do you help me please?" Your voice requested.

"Can I turn?"

"Yes." He turned to you and took a moment to break some pieces of paper and handed them to you. "Thanks." He turned around again.

When you were done and with your panties in place, you informed Law and flushed the toilet. "I can almost see the passion of our relationship literally going down the drain." You commented.

Law rolled his eyes in amusement to your tragic comment and guided you to the sink. "I have plenty of supplies, so don't worry about it." He asserted in cockiness.

You gave him a sidelong glance with a raised brow, but said nothing.

He helped you wash your hands, since you had problems to bend the arm with the IV, and washed his own hands before bringing you to the bed.

"You know? Being sick is not so bad with you here. You're a great doctor." You admitted after a while, smiling at him. "And a better boyfriend."

He returned your smile, flattered by your comment. "How are you?"

"I'm fine, but my stomach is starting to hurt again."

Law checked on the clock of his phone, surprised to see how many hours you had spent at the hospital already. It was past seven a.m. "They should bring the painkiller soon."

However, when they did you were feeling bad again, and soon after you were at your limit.

"Law."

He immediately recognized the call and stood, inwardly cursing for having forgotten to look for the basin before. He looked under the bed, where the other had been. Bingo. He reached for it and gave it to you.

This time it took you a while to actually start, but it was the harshest fit you had.

A whine escaped your lips when you noticed in horror there was some blood. "Law, is that blood?" You coughed, finding it hard to breathe. "Is that blood?" You panicked before another fit silenced you.

"Shh... Shh... Relax. Don't worry." He tried to soothe you, seeing you were getting scared and that was worsening your condition. He somehow managed to calm you down after some agonizing seconds, and the fit seemed to finally stop. "Done?"

When you nodded tiredly, he took the basin away and hid it under the bed to make sure you couldn't see it.

"Why am I bleeding?" You whined in fright as he wiped your mouth and the sweat on your forehead. "It was blood, right?" You almost chocked on the word. This had never happened to you before.

Law sat on the bed in front of you to appease you, and gently cupped your cheeks, his thumbs brushing your skin soothingly. You were trembling due to the effort, the exhaustion and the shock. "It was, but don't worry about it. It was just a little, you probably have an ulcer on your stomach, that's all."

His touch and his quiet, smooth voice made you feel a little better. "An ulcer?"

"Yes. If you have these fits once in a while, it's not so strange that you developed an ulcer. I know the blood has scared you and it looks very dramatic, but it's not necessarily something too serious. A small ulcer is not hard to treat, you'll just have to take the appropriate medication for a few months." He calmly explained. He sounded calmer than he felt, though. He was mostly sure it would be an ulcer, he was actually surprised it hadn't happened before, given your history, but he was afraid it could be something else, and most of all, he was worried about the possible cause.

You nodded slowly. "Okay. But what if it's not that?"

He couldn't help some panic to sprout in the bottom of his guts. If something happened to you... If he lost you... He didn't think he could stand it. He tried to shake those thoughts away, not wanting you to read the pain in his eyes. "If it's not that, the doctors will tell you how to treat it. You have your family, Esther-ya and you have me. We'll all be here to help you heal. Alright?" Thank God his voice didn't betray him. Probably because he had said no lie. Whatever it was, he would be there until the end.

He inwardly scolded himself for start assuming there would be an end. It was just some blood, you were at a good hospital, and you were with him. You would recover in a flash.

You nodded again. "Alright." You sobbed, raising a hand to wipe your tears.

He leaned to you to kiss your forehead and helped you lay down. Noticing your anxiousness, he took some time to relax you before calling the nurse. He took your hands and lightly massaged them for a while; your fingers, your palm, your wrist... He changed to your feet afterwards. After some minutes, both your hands and feet were warm instead of freezing cold, and your trembling was gone.

"I'm going to call the nurse." He mumbled, quietly to not disturb your peace.

When the nurse entered, Law explained her what had happened. You observed him distractedly as he did. What would you do without him? This would be so much worse if he wasn't there with you. You admired his patience and dedication. How could he have come to love you so much? What had you done to deserve him and his sweetest side?

You smiled faintly upon noticing the slight stupor on the nurse's face while she listened to Law's speech. Again, it was plagued with medical terms. It was probably uncommon to bump into a doctor when she expected a clueless patient.

When he finished, she made you a couple of questions and went to call your doctor, who went some minutes later to check on you. Like Law, he expected it to be an ulcer, but he told you he would refer you to the gastroenterologist to make you an endoscopy.

You rubbed your face in tiredness when he left. "Another endoscopy? I already went through one of those."

"Then you know you have nothing to worry about." Law pointed out, resting his elbow on the mattress and leaning his cheek on his palm as his golden, tired orbs observed you.

You realized his dark circles had darkened again, and his eyes were reddish from the lack of sleep. The glowing light they had showed the past days had withered slightly. He should sleep, but you knew he wouldn't until you were better, so you said nothing for the moment. "I know I don't like it." You pouted.

"You'll be asleep all the time. They'll put you to sleep and when you wake it will be done." He held your hand, and noted it was getting cold again.

"I'm tired."

"I know, sunshine. Hold on for a little longer, hm? I'm sure once they find out what happens to you and give you the right treatment, you'll get better." He brought your hand to his lips and kissed your palm.

Indeed, he was tired as well. Too much tension and no sleep at all. He knew it could be much worse, though, and he hoped he didn't have to be reminded of how bad it could actually get.

You somehow fell asleep, feeling his caresses on your hand. He noticed, but didn't stop them, knowing they helped you.

Some time later, he didn't know how much, someone knocked on the door. He expected it to be a nurse coming to take you to do the endoscopy, but he didn't want to wake you, so just in case it could be avoided, he carefully released your hand and stood before silently walking to the door.

However, when he opened it, no nurse was on the other side.
Well, a little cliff-hanger this time. Although quite predictable, I think :P
We also have to know if Reader has something serious... If she does, it will be a severe test for Law...

Anyways, I hope you like it ^-^
